Synopsis

“Yo and My Shadow” is an introspective and deeply personal yet humour-infused exploration of identity, transformation, and the human psyche. Acclaimed Colombian-Canadian opera singer Fabián Arciniegas invites audiences on a journey through migration, self-doubt, and reconciliation with his “shadow,” a concept inspired by Carl Jung. This one-person show masterfully blends monologue, music, movement, and sharp wit, weaving a poignant narrative that tackles profound themes with a touch of levity. Featuring an eclectic musical repertoire, from haunting Latin American melodies to classical arias and comedic moments that catch you off guard, “Yo and My Shadow” is a raw, moving, and entertaining portrait of resilience and self-acceptance.
